AMP Comics: A New Era in Comic Book Publishing
We are thrilled to announce the official launch of AMP Comics, a creator-centric independent comic label poised to revolutionize the industry. With a robust lineup of partners and an unwavering commitment to quality and creator satisfaction, AMP Comics is set to make a significant impact in the world of comics and beyond.
Key Collaborations and Strategic Partnerships
At the heart of AMP Comics' launch are several key collaborations with industry giants. We are excited to reveal our first-look deal with The Op (USAopoly), giving this renowned board game company the opportunity to develop games based on our diverse and dynamic comic book titles. Additionally, AMP Comics is honored to be the official publisher of the Script2Comic Contest, with the 2024 winner's work set to be financed and published in partnership with Kodansha Japan, a leading name in the manga industry.
Leadership Team
Leading AMP Comics as CEO is Don Handfield, a seasoned comic creator with a remarkable track record in both the comic book and film industries. Handfield's extensive experience includes his work on titles such as "The Rift," which was adapted for television by Steven Spielberg. Joining him are Joshua Starnes, a founding partner of Red 5 Comics, who will serve as President; David Byrne, former co-publisher at Scout Comics, as Publisher; Joel Rodriguez as Design Director; Joshua Malkin as Editor-in-Chief; and Jordan Moore as Director of Development. This powerhouse team brings a wealth of expertise and a shared passion for creating outstanding comics.
Launch Titles and Future Releases
AMP Comics will debut with a select number of high-quality titles, each meticulously crafted and marketed to ensure maximum impact. Among our exciting launch slate is mc foley’s "LoveStruck," which has already been picked up for television development by Ryan Reynolds’ production company, Maximum Effort. We are also proud to publish the entire Thunder Comics slate, featuring titles such as "NeverWars," "Prodigal Son," "Kill/Switch," "House of Lowther," and more.
